In the 1970s, no one was closer to the heart of New York City’s punk rock explosion than the legendary Danny Fields. Beginning his career in Andy Warhol’s Factory scene (and working with The Velvet Underground), Fields went on to a role in management, taking on Iggy and the Stooges and The Ramones, launching their careers, and establishing them as icons. Danny Says is a portrait of Fields that basks in the music and mayhem of the era through the lens of Fields’ own acidic, often hilarious, and always entertaining point of view.
Hot off the heels of his SXSW World Premiere, Director Brendan Toller will be in attendance and a short Q&A will follow the film.
